'Eid-ul-Fitr Update

Assalaamu 'Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaathuh

I hope and pray that you all had a fruitful Ramadhan and an enjoyable 'Eid. May Allah accept our good deeds, forgive us our shortcomings and unite us all in The Garden.

The last few days of Ramadhan, the 'Eid Day and the weekend has been hectic so I was not able to send you an update. MashaAllah the response has been phenomenal and I have now managed to work out the figures of contributions made through PayPal, bank transfers, cash and cheques. These have come from all around the world.

I sincerely would like to thank and ask Allah to reward immensely those who participated in this project by contributing funds, spreading the word, praying for its success and helping in whatever other ways possible. This started off as a small idea but it has now picked up momentum to cover the East of England Region. InshaAllah we hope and pray that this can be expanded to cover the whole of UK soon.

By the end of the 'Eid Day on Friday we had reached 168% of the overall target and currently we are at 171% of the target. This translates to 379 copies of the Quran Translations and 312 copies of the Seerah. Our target was 200 copies each of Quran and Seerah.

MashaAllah this has been a phenomenal success so far thanks to Allah's blessings and your support, given that it was only a limited email campaign. Alhamdulillah we now have the resources to start expanding beyond Cambridgeshire. We have already placed orders for the books.

If you have not contributed yet then this is the time to do so. There are no shortage of libraries for Quran and Seerah.

The list of donors and their comments will follow InshaAllah.

Statement of Support - Imam Sejad Mekic

Assalaamu 'Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaathuh

I am sure that all of you are eagerly waiting for an update. MashaAllah the response has bee phenomenal and I will send a detailed update soon, InshaAllah. In the meantime I would like to share an important and encouraging message with you from Imam Sejad Mekic.

"The Quran and Seerah for Libraries (QSL) Project is a much needed initiative for the communities living in the West. I personally know the brothers and sisters who initiated this Project and I must say that they are doing a wonderful job on behalf of the whole community. With all honesty I pray and hope that this initiative becomes a real success and would love to see it being implemented in other cities across the UK and wider.

I would also like to use this opportunity to encourage every Muslim brother and sister, young and old, to support this noble project to the fullest extent for your own benefit as well as for the benefit of the community. Remember that this deed of yours will be considered as sadaqa jariyah (a continuous charity).

May Allah the Almighty bless this project and through it show the light of Islam to millions of people who are in search of enlightenment. Amin."

- Imam Sejad Mekic,
The Khatib of Cambridge Mosque and Islamic Centre

May Allah the Almighty reward Imam Sejad for these encouraging words. You will be pleased to know that we are working through the Cambridgeshire Libraries to expand to the neighbouring county and city public libraries. These include counties of Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Lincolnshire which basically cover the East of England Region which works out to an additional 200 - 300 public libraries. Now it should be called "East of England QSL Challenge" :-)

As you can see the possibilities endless. So if you are not already part of this project then it is time to join. This is a unique opportunity creating an immense benefit both for you and for the community. Please act now, visit:

Buy Quran Week - The QSL Challenge

Assalaamu 'Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaathuh

I hope and pray that you and your family are well.

We are in the last few days of Ramadhan and I thought of introducing a new outreach project in Cambridge to make your Ramadhan even more special. This is the Qur'an and Seerah for Libraries (QSL) Project.

You can find information about the QSL Project and The Challenge by clicking on the links above.

We need to raise 200 sets of Quran and Seerah for Cambridgeshire Libraries by the Eid-ul-Fitr.

Will you please help in meeting this Challenge?

May Allah shower His blessings on you and your family and reward you immensely.

Jazakumullahu Khair
